Uttarakhand Police and Special Task Force (STF) have arrested examination cheating mafia Hakam Singh and his associate on Saturday. They were allegedly duping candidates by promising success in the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam.
According to police officials, the accused were demanding between ₹12–15 lakh from aspirants, assuring them of guaranteed selection. Their modus operandi included a fraudulent promise—if candidates failed to clear the exam, they were assured adjustment in the next recruitment process, while their money would be retained in case of automatic selection.
Police said the arrests mark an important step in breaking the nexus of exam-related corruption. “Uttarakhand Police is fully committed to ensuring that all recruitment examinations are conducted in a fair and transparent manner,” an official statement read.
The investigation is ongoing, and further arrests in the case cannot be ruled out, officials added.
