A cloudburst hit Dharali village in the Harshil area of Uttarkashi district on Tuesday, causing significant damage to life and property. While no casualties have been officially confirmed yet, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed deep sorrow over the incident, extended condolences to the affected families, and assured all possible assistance. Meanwhile PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have spoken with CM Dhami and assured all possible help to the state.
The Chief Minister has directed officials to carry out relief and rescue operations on a war footing. Teams from the Army, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), district administration, and other related agencies have been deployed to the affected area and are actively engaged in rescue and relief work.
CM Dhami is in constant contact with senior officials and is monitoring the situation closely. He has prayed for the safety and well-being of all residents impacted by the disaster.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed deep grief over the incident. In a telephonic conversation with CM Dhami, Shah took detailed information about the situation and assured full central assistance to the state government. He extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and expressed solidarity with those affected.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too expressed profound grief over the tragic cloudburst. He spoke to CM Dhami and inquired about the situation, assuring full support from the central government. The PM also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Relief efforts are continuing on a war footing, with authorities working tirelessly to provide support and rehabilitate those impacted by this natural calamity.
