The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has officially opened online bookings for various pujas at Shri Badrinath and Shri Kedarnath Dhams for the upcoming pilgrimage season. Devotees can now book special rituals and pujas through the BKTC’s official website: www.badrinath-kedarnath.gov.in.
BKTC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vijay Prasad Thapliyal informed that the portals of Shri Kedarnath Dham will open on May 2, and Shri Badrinath Dham on May 4 this year. Devotees can book morning, evening, and extended-duration pujas online until June 30. Importantly, the temple committee has decided not to revise the fee structure this year, keeping the rates the same as previous years.
According to BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur, the pujas at Sri Badrinath Dham include Abhishek, Mahabhishek, Vedpath, Geeta Path, Vishnu Sahasranama, Silver and Golden Aarti, Geeta Govind Path, and Shayan Aarti. Similarly, for Kedarnath Dham, the offerings include Rudrabhishek, Laghu Rudrabhishek, Mahamrityunjay Path, Shodashopachar Puja, and Evening Aarti.
As per Internet Coordinator Dipendra Rawat, the response to the online booking has been encouraging. So far, 93 pujas have already been booked—32 Mahabhishek and Abhishek pujas for Badrinath and 61 Shodashopachar pujas for Kedarnath. Currently, 30% of the total pujas for Badrinath Dham and 20% for Kedarnath Dham are being booked through the online portal.
This digital initiative aims to provide a smoother experience for devotees and reduce on-site congestion during the peak pilgrimage season.
