Responding to remarks made by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand ji regarding a possible delay in the Char Dham Yatra, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey clarified that the Yatra will commence as per schedule i.e. April 30.
He emphasized that the Uttarakhand government is fully prepared and committed to ensuring a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience for all devotees. “The state government is alert, active, and prioritizing the safety and convenience of pilgrims above all,” Pandey stated.
Reassuring the public, the Commissioner highlighted that all essential preparations have been completed, including improvements to travel routes, strengthened health services, emergency assistance measures, and necessary logistical arrangements.
He urged people not to believe in rumors or misleading statements that could cause confusion. “The Char Dham Yatra is a symbol of unwavering faith, well-planned arrangements, and collective resolve,” he said.
The pilgrimage, one of the most significant in Hinduism, will begin with full religious reverence and organizational readiness. Authorities have reiterated that all systems are in place to welcome lakhs of devotees to Uttarakhand’s revered shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
