Team India has created history by winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, defeating New Zealand in the final match held today. Despite losing the toss and being put to field first, India showcased exceptional performance both in bowling and batting, securing a comfortable victory and lifting the coveted trophy.
New Zealand, after winning the toss, opted to bat first but struggled against the strong Indian bowling attack. Daryl Mitchell emerged as the top scorer for New Zealand with 63 runs, while the entire team managed to post a total of just 251 runs. Indian bowlers consistently dominated the game, keeping the Kiwi batsmen under pressure throughout the innings.
Chasing a target of 252 runs, the Indian batting lineup displayed remarkable composure and determination. Indian openers provided a solid start, and the middle-order batsmen carried the momentum forward to comfortably achieve the target. With this victory, Team India has once again established its supremacy in world cricket by clinching the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
It is worth mentioning that India had earlier defeated Australia in the semi-final to book their spot in the final. In the semi-final match as well, India lost the toss and was asked to field first. However, India managed to chase the target successfully and entered the final with high spirits.
Expressing his joy over India’s victory, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the team for their outstanding performance. He said, “The Indian cricket team has once again brought pride to the nation by winning the ICC Champions Trophy. The players have displayed exceptional talent and teamwork, and the entire country is proud of them.”
With this memorable win, Team India has brought joy to millions of cricket fans across the globe and added another prestigious trophy to their cricketing legacy.
