In a major breakthrough in the ongoing relief and rescue operations near Mana in Chamoli district, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed that 49 workers have been successfully evacuated from the avalanche-hit area. Among them, 14 workers were rescued recently, while six seriously injured individuals have been shifted to the Army Hospital in Jyotirmath for treatment.
The Chief Minister personally visited the affected site to oversee the ongoing operations and ensure that all possible assistance is being provided to those trapped. During his visit, he interacted with the rescued workers and assured them of proper medical care and support. “The safety and well-being of the affected workers is our top priority. The administration, Army, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are working round the clock to expedite the rescue efforts,” said CM Dhami.
Chamoli District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari provided updates on the operation, reiterating that 49 workers have been successfully rescued so far. He also stated that the seriously injured workers are receiving the best possible medical treatment at Army Hospital, Jyotirmath.
The Chief Minister highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Central Government is extending full support to the state administration. He reaffirmed the commitment of the “double engine” government in standing firmly with the affected citizens during this crisis.
The combined efforts of the administration, military personnel, and SDRF teams continue to focus on rescuing the remaining trapped workers at the earliest. The government has assured that necessary relief and rehabilitation measures will be provided to those impacted by the avalanche.
