Uttarakhand to Appoint 1,317 Assistant Teachers in Remote Schools shortly

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has finalized the selection of 1,317 Assistant Teachers (LT) across various subjects, with appointments set to take place within a month. These teachers will be posted on priority in remote and hilly areas of the state to strengthen the education system.

State School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat informed that the first postings will be in government schools of Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, including Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pauri, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Bageshwar, and Almora districts. Teachers will also be assigned to inaccessible schools in Chakrata (Dehradun) and Okhalkanda (Nainital) blocks.

The selected teachers include 153 in Mathematics, 237 in General, 197 in Science, 15 in Commerce, 21 in Sanskrit, 1 in Urdu, 164 in English, 179 in Hindi, 229 in Arts, 8 in Music, 13 in Home Science, and 100 in Physical Education.

Dr. Rawat stated that 1,544 teaching posts were initially requisitioned, but results for 1317 have been announced. The remaining positions will be filled after court cases are resolved. The government aims for 100% teacher appointments in hilly schools to enhance education quality and accessibility for students.
