38th National Games Torch ‘Tejaswini’ receives Grand Welcome in Chamoli

The 38th National Games torch, ‘Tejaswini,’ receives grand welcome when its reaches Gwaldam on January 9. A large crowd, including students, local residents, players, and sports enthusiasts, gathered to greet the torch with immense enthusiasm. Led by the ITBP band, a massive rally was organized by students of Government Adarsh Inter College, who paraded through Gwaldam market, spreading awareness about the National Games.

Chants of “Devbhoomi Banegi Khel Bhoomi” and “Sankalp Se Shikhar Tak” echoed throughout the rally, creating an atmosphere of excitement. Locals eagerly took photos and selfies with torch ‘Tejaswini’ and mascot Mauli, symbolizing their support for the upcoming games.

District Sports Officer Bageshwar Kiran handed over the torch to District Sports Officer Chamoli Girish Kumar at Gwaldam. Project Director Anand Singh unveiled the promotional banner and flagged off the torch rally toward the district headquarters in Gopeshwar.

As Uttarakhand prepares to host the 38th National Games, the torch rally aims to engage and inspire communities across all districts. The torch will pass through Tharali and Karnaprayag before reaching Gopeshwar on Thursday evening. A grand Pandavaj cultural show will be held on January 10 at Gopeshwar Police Ground to celebrate the occasion.

On January 11, another torch rally is scheduled in Gauchar. Officials, including Project Director Anand Singh, DEO PRD Deepak Bisht, ITBP personnel, students, and local residents, were present during the event, contributing to the energetic celebrations.
