The Uttarakhand Mining Department has achieved a remarkable feat in the financial year 2023-24 by setting a new record in revenue collection. This year, the department has surpassed all previous records by earning a total revenue of ₹ 645.42 crore, compared to ₹ 472.25 crore in the previous financial year 2022-23. This marks a significant increase of ₹ 173.42 crore, which is approximately 40% higher than the previous year’s earnings.
Secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant attributed this success to the dedicated efforts of the entire team of the State Government and the Mining department. He highlighted that the department’s achievement of the highest revenue collection since the formation of Uttarakhand state is a result of the proactive changes made in departmental policies and rules by the state government. These changes, focused on revenue interests and forward-thinking strategies, have brought the department closer to its set revenue target compared to previous years.
Expressing immense satisfaction, the Secretary commended the department for fulfilling the resolution to increase revenue receipts in the current financial year. He expressed optimism in achieving a revenue target of ₹ 1000 crore and expressed confidence in the department’s action plan to achieve 100% revenue by the year’s end. With determination and commitment, he believes that the Mining department will successfully reach this ambitious target.
