Verdict on Kulbhushan Jadhav may be decided later this month

Result may come in the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is in the International Court of Hague by July 17. Court can declare its decision at 6.30 in the evening. In a way, the eyes of everyone are on the issue of India versus Pakistan. This year, from 18 to 21 February, the International Court of Justice in The Hague had presented its own claims and arguments on behalf of India and Pakistan on this issue.

Kulhushan Jadhav, a citizen of Indian origin, was caught by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI from Iran. After this, Pakistan’s military court had sentenced Jadhav to death sentence on false allegation of espionage. India is demanding Jodhav’s consular access from 2016. Through the Indian Embassy located in Islamabad, it has been learned that since Jadhav has been imprisoned by Pakistan, India has been asking for its consular access.

Even though Pakistan repeatedly insisted on refusing to grant India its demand. After this, on May 8, 2017, India took this case with Pakistan to the International Court. In it, India accused Pakistan of breaking the Vienna Agreement 1963. On May 18, 2017, the International Court put a stay on Kulbhushan Jadhav’s death sentence. The court said in its order, till the ICJ has not heard its final decision in this matter, Pakistan can not punish Kulbhushan Jadhav.
