HC stays assistant professor recruitment process in Uttarakhand

The High Court has stayed the recruitment process of 837 vacancies in different subjects of Assistant Professors in Uttarakhand’s state colleges. The Public Service Commission has been instructed to file the response within three weeks.

A division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice NS Dhanik passed the order on the petition of Rashmi Nautiyal and others resident of Dehradun. It was said that the Public Service Commission had sought applications for recruitment on April 17, 2017 in 837 vacancies in various subjects of Assistant Professors in the colleges.

The Commission made appointments on the basis of interview, ignoring the UGC norms. According to the rules of the UGC, the merit of 100 marks will be made after the screening of selected candidates in the written examination, the preference for interview will be only 20 percent.
