DU’s 25 students got campus placement

As many as 25 students studying Foreign Languages at Doon University have been selected for jobs by Amazon as part of the campus recruitment drive by the multinational giant.

Oraganised by Career Counseling and Training Cell, Doon University, the two-day campus recruitment comprised language test, aptitude test, online exams and interactions and rigorous interviews by a team of experts that visited the university.

The foreign language student still completing their final year graduation included 8 from German language, 6 from Japanese, 5 from Spanish, 4 from French and two from Chinese. These students will find placements in Hyderabada and Bangalore. A total of over 100 students appeared for the on campus test.

The students from Japanese and Chinese will receive a package of Rs 6 lakh per annum while French, Spanish and German Language students will receive a package of Rs 5,20,000 per annum.

“We are quite excited for our students and we are committed to offer quality education and try our best to ensure good placement for them. School of Languages is an upcoming school where career and job opportunities offered are tremendous. We are inviting a number of national and multinational companies for job placements while we are organizing a series of career enhancement and other related trainings to our students across schools,” University Vice Chancellor Dr C S Nautiyal said.

The Doon University Career Counseling and Training team that organized the event included Dr Harsh Dobhal, Dr Reena Singh, Dr Ravi Kumar and Dr Prachi Pathak. The Amazon team that conducted the recruitment drive included Mr Rohit, Mr Deepak, Mr Shounak, Mr Tribhuwan and Ms Sayantani.
