The Meteorological Department issued heavy snow warning around Mussoorie and nearby. After this, hundreds of people from Delhi, Gurgaon, Chandigarh, West UP, Dehradun started arriving on Tuesday morning and thereafter they were approaching Dhanaulti. By the afternoon the snow was light. But after the blizzard increased, the vehicles were trapped in their place. Till now Mussoorie has received 15 cm of snow which is a record in the previous 5 years. It did not snow in 2015 and 2017.
Due to snow, due to the closure of the road between Dhanaulti-Suvakholi, hundreds of tourists were trapped in Suvakholi, Buranshkhand, Dhanaulti. A tourist stranded in Suvakholi reported to the Disaster Control Room located in Dehradun that he was stranded through Whatsapp messages. Until late evening when snow stopped and many tourists left their vehicles on the streets and walked to Mussoorie on foot. People said that many vehicles slipped and collided with the road side barriers.
