Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has extended his best wishes to the people of the state on the occasion of New Year 2019. In his message Chief Minister wished for the happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of the state. Since inception as CM of UK, I am trying to fulfill it with utmost dedication. In the year 2018, our government has made efforts for the overall development of the state and taking public welfare schemes to the common man.
Chief Minister said that for the upliftment of every section of society, this year the state government has taken some major decisions. Health facilities should be available to every person in the state with ease. No person shall be deprived of treatment due to lack of funds. For this, Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand Yojana has been started in the state. Under this Yojana, free health facilities up to five lakh rupees are being provided to all 23 lakh families of the state. In order to promote industrial investments in Uttarakhand, simple policy was framed for industries. Single window clearance is being given for investment proposals. Investors Summit was organized for the first time in Uttarakhand on 7-8 October, 2018. During this summit, MoUs were signed on proposals of Rs. 1 lakh 24 thousand crores. MoUs of Rs. 40 thousand crores have been signed for the small scale industries in the hill areas.
Chief Minister said that tourism is important for providing economic strength to Uttarakhand. Through tourism, we have tried to change the picture of the state. 13 new tourist sites are being developed in 13 districts of the state. Adventure tourism is being promoted by giving tourism status to industry. There is a special focus on nature, adventure, Yoga-Spirituality and Wild Life Tourism in Uttrakhand. For rural tourism, target is to create 5,000 new home stays has been set. Several policy decisions were taken to ensure that Uttarakhand should be in the leading states in the country from the development point of view. Our endeavour is implementation of the projects at the ground level. Consolidated efforts are being made to ensure access to development schemes to each and every person of the society. He said that Transfer Act has been made to bring transparency in the transfer of public servants and strengthening the government machinery. In the direction of transparent, corruption-free administration, the government adopted the Zero Tolerance Policy against corruption. Due to economic discipline, many departments like mining, power and transport are recovering from the deficit. The construction of the Mohkampur Flyover, Daat Kali tunnel in Dehradun was not only completed before time but also money was saved.
On the occasion of New Year, Chief Minister called upon the people to take a pledge to play their positive role in taking the state to new heights of development. He said that with the new hope and firm belief, we will have to make ourselves compete for the coming challenges. With determination and firm belief and step by step we will have to continue moving forward towards the goal of prosperity and progress.
