Net banking facilities will be started soon in the state co-operative banks. In order to start the Net Banking facility, the Board of District Co-operative Banks has passed the proposal and sent it to the co-operative bank.
There are a co-operative bank and ten district co-operative banks in Uttarakhand. There are about 12 lakh customers connected with the two banks. Four lakh farmers of 759 co-operative societies of the state are also associated with these banks. Co-operative banks also have facilities for CBS Systems, NEFT, RTGS, ATM and Debit Card. In spite of these facilities, customers had to do the same by going to the branch of the bank. It is being told that the branches of banks got the right for net banking.
For cooperative banks, customers do not have the facility of mobile banking, online banking, internet banking, telephone banking, credit card, e-banking. Because of this, the customers of these banks have to do most of the transaction by visiting the branch.
Proposal was sent to RBI for starting net banking. NABARD has inspected the branches of banks for net banking. Now again the proposal will be sent through NABARD. Co-operative banks are aiming to start net banking service this year.
