CM reviews progress of Steering committee meet

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat convened review meeting of State level steering committee. In the meeting, the minutes of the fourth meeting of the Steering Committee held on January 3, 2018 were tabled and after that the progress report of ‘Uttarakhand-2020’ was presented.

Chief Minister said that under the scheme, the outlets of the finished products of Himadri Hans Handloom should be increased. In particular, its products in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Mussoorie will get a good market. It could also be linked to outlets run by Uttarakhand Emporium and outlets being operated by other institutions.

It was informed in the meeting that work is being done in the field of sanitation under Uttarakhand under which about 5000 individual and 300 public toilets are being constructed, out of which 3700 have been constructed in Haridwar and Dehradun. Under the Modernization of 95 schools, 20 smart classes have been set up in 10 schools. Toilets construction has been started in 37 schools. In order to provide food to the children in government schools, 2 centralized kitchens have been set up and for four 4, site has been identified. ICU has been set up at Pithoragarh and contract has been signed to establish ICU in Pauri. Solar systems have been provided to more than 2200 households in 05 districts of Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar under domestic electrification.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Women Welfare and Child Development Shmt. Rekha Arya, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Chief Secretary Shmt Radhika Jha, Secretary Health Nitesh Jha and CEO Hans Foundation Lt Gen SN Mehta  were present.
