Clouds in the mountainous areas and the fog in the plains are becoming more frequent increasing the chances of rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand. According to the Meteorological Department, there can be rain and snowfall in the mountainous areas in the next 24 hours.
In the capital, Dehradun, after some fog in the morning, light clouds were spreading in the sky. On the other hand, in the other mountainous areas including Tehri, Nainital, there has been hide and seek between the sun and the cllouds. In other areas, the weather remains dry.
According to the Meteorological Department, light rainfall and snowfall may occur somewhere in higher altitude areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh. The weather in other districts of the state will remain dry. According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, besides Chardham Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamanotri of Uttarakhand, the high hills of Kumaun and Chakrata peaks will have very cold weather.
