43000 tree to be felled for all weather road, which are being constructed on way to char dham, in Uttarakhand. This was disclosed during the meeting, which was called to review the progress of all weather road project, led by chief secretary Utpal Kumar Singh here in secretariat today.
Singh asked them not to do unnecessary correspondence between the government and executive agency unless and until it is necessary. Giving emphasis on direct communication between the duo, CS said that with the correspondence project gets delayed and executive agency fails to execute on time.
Under Char Dham project district is being provided fund as per their demand. CS expressed satisfaction over the work of champawat district and asked other districts to take lesson from them.
Under the project 533 kilometer road to be made and for this 43000 trees to be felled by the executive agency. Meanwhile they chopped 23000 trees in 285 kilometer long road. During meeting it was told that land certification officer has distributed land acquisition money among the beneficiary and now they need money for further acquisition.
CS asked them nodal officer to send proposal to union transport ministry for further fund release. Land certification officer has distributed Rs 165 crore out of released Rs 184 crore so far. Taking cognizance on joshimath dispute, CS asked the revenue department officer to visit the area and sort out the issue as soon as possible.
