On the occasion of vigilance public awareness week, Vigilance department director administered oath to their subordinate to refrain from taking or giving bribes to anyone across the state on Monday. First day of the vigilance public awareness week was hosted by the State Vigilance Department at its headquarters in Dehradun.
Vigilance Director ADGP RS Meena Meena appealed to the people whosoever have been asked for bribe by government officials must inform to the department immediately. You also provide us information of the officers found possessing assets disproportionate to their disclosed sources of income. For this you can approach personally to the department officials to lodge complaint against any government officer or employee, irrespective of their status. He assured that their identity will not be disclosed to anyone. As we know that public participation is necessary to weed out corruption from the state. He reiterated his department’s resolve to weed out corruption especially bribe culture from government departments.

A seminar on ‘prevention of corruption’ would be held at ONGC premises on October 31 from where the people would be appealed to co-operate with the Government to free the State from corruption. Followed by several programme– A rally of school students on Nov 1, debate and discussion on ‘Is current education system playing vital role in curbing corruption?’ at police line on Nov 2; An awareness campaign at Doiwala, Sahaspur and Roorkee blocks on Nov 3. Similar awareness campaigns against corruption are lined up for across the state during the week.
