UK to organise run for unity on Oct 31; CM

Following on the union government decision to celebrate October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) Uttarakhand government has decided to organise run for unity in the state. Chief Minister Trivendra singh Rawat disclose this to media at his residence today. CM said that as we know that Sardar Patel had merged several Rajwada with India after independence. In view of ongoing exam state government has excluded the government school students of class of IX and above. He expects large number of people especially youth would participate to make this successful.

The Government observes 31st October all over the country as a day of special occasion, to foster and reinforce the Governments dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of our nation, by celebrating it as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the founding fathers of the Republic of India.

In the state capital celebrations on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas between 7.30 to 830 a.m. include offering Floral Tribute to Sardar Patel and flagging off the Run for Unity. In Dehradun Run will flag off from four places-vidhan sabha, pavallion ground, municipal corporation and kissan bhawan but it will end at police line. There governor Dr KK Paul will administer pledge of swach bharat abhiyan. immediately after a blood donation camp will be also organised by organised there so that people can donate their blood to save others life.

As the run for unity is being organised across the state. District Magistrate has been appointed as nodal office in district. In district flag off will be made by minister incharge while in block/tehsil level flaf off by MLA or public representatives.
