Spl Rajdhani exp between del-Mumbai by oct 16

To fulfill the long demand of passengers & to provide faster and convenient connectivity to passengers between two metros Delhi and Mumbai, Railways is going to introduce a new Special Rajdhani Express between Delhi & Mumbai from October 16. Flexi Fare shall not be applicable in this train.  Railways are already running two Rajdhanis and more than 30 mail/exp trains between Delhi and Mumbai.

Delhi, the capital city of India, and Mumbai is India’s commercial and financial capital, as well as the capital city of Maharashtra State. Both the cities are important business centers of the country. With the introduction of new Rajdhani Express, the travel time will be reduced by around two hours. Currently travel time is 15 hour 50 minute but it will connect two metro city in 13 hour 55 minutes only. The new service is planned to be commenced as a tri-weekly special service with only one rake and shall provide faster rail connectivity between Delhi and Mumbai and great convenience to passengers and passengers will avail of some of the benefits like. It will enable the passengers to avoid peak-hours of traffic. Passengers will not need to get freshen up in the train enabling them to have cozy mornings. Passengers can attend offices as per their routine.

This train will have stoppages at Kota, Vadodara and Surat stations only. The inaugural run of first special Rajdhani will be on Oct 16 from Hazrat Nizamuddin. It will comprise of one first AC, two 2AC and twelve 3ACs and one pantry car. The train will be hauled by two locomotives (2 WAP5 locomotives (5,400 HP each) for better acceleration, deceleration and higher speed.  This train would run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph.

09004 (NZM-BDTS):  The special will start at 1615 from NZM and reach Bandra Terminus at 0610 next day.   The travel time is 13 hours 55 minutes. The days of run ex NZM are Wed, Fri, Sun.

09003 (BDTS-NZM) : The special will start at 1605 from Bandra Terminas and reach NZM at 0600 next day. The travel time is 13 hours 55 minutes. The days of Ex Bandra Terminus are Tue, Th, Sat.

The train will be introduced on experimental basis for three months i.e. Oct 16-Jan 16 to gauge the response of the travelling public to a concept of flat increase in fare against existing flexi-fare, all berths being available for booking on the date of opening of ARP, facility for optional catering and early arrival into Mumbai/Delhi before rush hours.

 

Catering services

The on board catering on this train is being organized by railway PSU namely Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).  The catering services will be optional as per the existing menu and tariff of Rajdhani trains. The passengers shall have the choice to opt out of the catering services. There will be  provision for evening tea and dinner.

Fare Structure

  • There will not be Flexi fare component in the fare structure of this train.
  • The fares in or the new service would be 20% more than the base fares for existing Mumbai Rajdhani without any flexi fare. 
  • The fare for Special Rajdhani in 3rdAC will be around Rs 500-600 cheaper (i.e.19% cheaper) than maximum flexi fare of 3rd AC in Mumbai Rajdhani.
  • The fare for special Rajdhani in 2ndAC will be around Rs 700-800 cheaper (19% cheaper) than maximum flexi fare of 2nd AC in Mumbai Rajdhani.
