Do we really need bullet train?

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, who has been assigned Railway in last cabinet reshuffle, has been interacting with passengers in running train and released the picture on social media too but forgotten to correct the pathetic condition of the train.

A passenger Sunil Purohit, who had booked AC-II Tier ticket to visit his home town Kota from Mumbai during Deepawali, was very much excited to travel in premium train but his excitement vanished once he boarded into the train. The train’s condition was pathetic and had full of rust from inside. The scene was depicting the real condition of the Indian Railway, which has been patting after laying foundation stone of bullet train in between Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Even the BJP leaders are mentioning it as an achievement of Narendra Modi led NDA regime during their ongoing election campaign.

He further said that if you are charging hefty money from the passenger with a claim that railway provides ultra-modern facility to the passengers during journey. As we know that in AC bogey you have no scope for fresh air. It surrounds within the bogey. Being a passenger of long journey train he bought reserve ticket for comfortable journey. As he laid down over their seat then he found bogey’s ceiling was full of rust and even clamp by which his seat was attached had full of rust. Even light’s glass was broken and bulb was missing. It was highlighting how much railway is concerned about the passengers’ safety.

Now question is that if railway is unable to provide better service in premium train then we can anticipate the condition of General bogey of General Train. Although Railway Minister Goyal claims that resources for safety are different from that of the bullet train
