Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced that their government would construct houses for police personnel. it is necessary to keep their tempo high and enhance their productivity. He assured them that government would make sure no fund crunch would happen while executing the housing project of the police personnel. As far as police personnel’s accommodation is concerned then Uttarakhand’s average is 18 percent while national average is 25 percent so he assured that he would bridge the gap.
In view of rising smuggling case of cow and its progeny CM has asked the police DGP to check this menace you constitute special squad for Haridwar district. To pay tribute to martyre police CM also laid wrath at police memorial.
In his address CM also apprised to the police personnel about the government’s ongoing schemes, which are being run for the welfare of the police and their family too. To enhance the police efficiency and to weed out compulsive corruption we have created special corpus of Rs three crore at police station level. For valiant police personnel, who lost their life while serving their duty, government has decided to increase the amount by Rs five lakh, which means now they would get Rs 15 lakh instead of Rs 10 lakh earlier.
Head constable and constables motorcycle allowances have been increased by Rs 800 per month. It means now they would get Rs 1200 per month in place of Rs 400 per month earlier. CM has also announced that training allowance of the police instructors working in Police training centre, Narendranagar and Armed training centre, Haridwar. Now these instructors would get 15 percent of their salary as training allowance. To strengthen the law and order situation of the state, their government has created two new police station and one reporting police posts too.
CM has appealed to the police that you should work on the principle of justice to all and equality before law. You should also enhance your image so that tourist and police should feel safe once they see person in uniform. Talking about the naxalism and terrorism, CM said that currently India is facing threat from few terrorist organization so police should be vigilant to deal with this challenge.
CM paid condolence to 379 police personnel, who lost their live while serving their duty across the country. In which seven personnel including one inspector and six constable belongs to Uttarakhand. Their names are Inspector Ram Kumar Juyal and Six constables including Narendra Singh, Kalam Singh, Narendra Kumar, Ravindra Singh Kunwar, Satyendra Singh Negi and Nitish Kumar.
DGP AK Raturi said that most of the martyre police personnel lost their live while fighting with naxalite and terrorist too. state government is running several projects for the welfare of police and their families too. This year state has released Rs 83 lakh as medical reimbursement of 392 police personnel and their families. under personal insurance scheme department has disbursed Rs 12.5 lakh among the deceased families. Even 32 dependents of martyre police personnel were recruited on compassionate ground. In which 29 were appointed on the post of constable and three on class IV post.
other dignitaries including cabinet minister Prakash Pant, Subodh Uniyal, minister of state Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, MLA umesh Shram, Harbans Kapur, Ganesh Joshi, Khazandas, state BJP President Ajay Bhatt, Chief secretary S Ramaswami and Principal Secretary Home Anand Vardhan and other senior police personnel were present there.
