In a bid to make city free from traffic jam ADGP Law & order Ashok Kumar has convened a meeting with their subodinates including Assistant to IG Kewal Khurana and Dehradun SSP here in dehradun today. In which police has decided that no parking charges at pacific mall parking and ban police personnel leave till Deepawali with immediate effect.
To identify the spots, where traffic jam happens regularly, Khurana had made intensive survey of the city ahead of the meeting. In view of upcoming Deepawali festival police has made few alternation in traffic route and red light timing too. In which pacific mall’s parking will be made free, a cut outside the Madhuban hotel will be closed, left turn of behal chowk will be widen, CPU will be deployed at 25 points in place of 12 points earlier, made mandatory for the traffic police personnel to carry whistle and wil not carry mobile during duty; complexes of chakrata and rajpur road parking will be open for all; will reset the timing of the red lights of the important chowks of the city; imposed ban on the leave of police and traffic personnel in view of deepawali and made police post’s incharge accountable to ensure smooth flow of traffic during peak hour.
Besides it, to dissuade the drunken driving in hills, police will be equipped with alcometer and instructed to the udhamsinghnagar ssp to review the cause of accidents in their district and start a campaign against the dumper, overloaded vehicle have meeting with mining vehicle, overloaded vehicle and rash driving and minor driving too. he asked the traffic directorate to make sure reduction of road accident by 10 percent in next six month as per the guideline set up by the surpeme court
