MCI approves 4 PG seats to SMC, Srinagar

After getting the duly recognized postgraduate class from the Medical Council of India, the state’s first medical college Srinagar now becomes PG Medical College. On the basis of its inspection report, the MCI has given approved four PG seats in Anatomy division in Srinagar Medical College. Dr. Chandramohan, Principal of Medical College, Prof. Rawat, also called it a big achievement for the college. Now the efforts are being made to introduce PG classes in other medical subjects as PG College.

MCI had approved four seats of PG in the subject of Anatomy in Srinagar Medical College in the year 2013-14. The inspection team of the MCI on the basis of these PG seats reached the Srinagar Medical College on June 16, after inspection of PG classes in Patients, research, research etc. in Anatomy Department, gave their report to MCI. Based on the inspection report, the MCI approved four seats of PG in Srinagar Medical College. This validation is for five years. After this, the MCI team will re-evaluate the recognition and renew the recognition.
