In a bid to mark the state foundation state, state government is going to organise a ‘Khel Mahakumbh’ at four different levels including Nyay panchayat, Block, District and State from November 9.
Talking to the media person State sports Director Prashant Arya said that its objective is to search the sports talents from across the State and to celebrate the state foundation day as well.To make the even successful a sports committee comprising administrative officers have been constituted. The directorate of Youth Welfare and Prantiya Rakshak Dal would be involved. Sports like Kabaddi and Kho-kho and volleyball match to be held at nyay panchayat levels between November 9-11.
Block level sports competition would be held betwen November 14-20; District level competition between November 24-30 and state level competition between December 3-13. Besides it, open sports competitions on Taekwondo, Judo, boxing and table tennis would be held for the age group of 19 to 35 years
Sports competitions for different age categories like age group of 19 and 35 years (men and women), veteran 35-55 years (men and women) and Divyang (men and women) would also be held during the mega sports event.
For those falling in the age groups -10, 14, 17 and 19- of men and women category, competitions involving Kabadi, Kho-kho, athletics, volleyball, badminton, Taekwondo, Judo, boxing and table tennis would be held while for those falling in the age group of 19 to 35 years, competitions involving Kabadi, Athletics and Volleyball would be held.
Besides, the veteran age group would participate in sports like kabaddi, athletics and volleyball.The divyang would take part in sports like athletics and badminton.
The block education officers have been appointed nodal officers of the committee at nyay panchayat levels while Chief Education Officer (CEO) has been made nodal officer for district level.
“The director of Directorate Youth Welfare and Prantiya Rakshak Dal, Uttarakhand would act as the nodal officer of the committee at the State level and the committee would comprise Madhyamik director and director urban development,” he added.
