Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has categorically said that to ensure easy transportation of crop from farm to market state government is planning to provide vehicle having freezer facility and to keep the perishable commodity fresh for long term state also planning to build cold storage too. To give impetus to the land consolidation he has decided to start it from his own village. He also appealed to the people to begin land consolidation and their villagers have given their approval for this which is why the procedure has begun. Later they also felicitated the farmers who did excellent in farming.
After inaugurating the State Level Kissan Mahotsav (Farmer Festival) Rabbi-2017 at Kisan Bhawan here in Dehradun on Wednesday, CM Rawat said that the Mahotsav is being organized to apprise farmers about modern technique and increase their income too. As Prime Minister narendra modi has fixed the target to to double farmers’ income by 2022. As he has been told that large number of farmers have arrived here so he appealed to them to take something from here. Even you can interact with the agriculture experts to know about how to do farming and how to use the equipment required for farming. By using latest technique you can double your income.
He also said that as we know that people have managed to make control over all the animal including tiger. Currently farmers have been facing threat from wild life especially Monkey because it destroys standing crop. To avoid it we can cultivate aromatic plant which wild life does not eat. He also informed to the people that state Government has decided to transfer the ration money into the account of beneficiary directly to curb the irregularities. He has taken this step considering the recent food scam.
In his address Rawat said that farmers’ participation and cooperation needed to achieve the target of doubling the farmers income by 2022 in accordance with the aspirations of Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi. Firm dedication needed for the purpose. Chief Minister suggested growing such crops which are not harmed by wild animals to protect our crops.
Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal said that Farmers Festival is being organize to establish dialogue between farmers and concerned officials. By promoting apple farming he would strengthen the state economy too. Cold storgare and collection centres are being made.
