Earthquake will come tmrw in UK; NDMA

On Friday if you come across with deafening sound of hooters atop ambulance and rushing police vehicle in and around you or your nearby areas then don’t get panic because national disaster management authority (NDMA) is going to do mock exercise on how to rescue earthquake affected people in the state. this was disclosed by the secretary disaster to the DM through video conferencing.

To raise state wide awareness about effective action, which are necessary to reduce disaster risk at community level NDMA is organising mock exercise on the occasion international day for disaster reduction-2017 on October 13. It is substantial challenge which can be accomplished only through coordination, cooperation and collaboration among many stakeholders. In which all the important departments including Army, ITBP, SSB, NDRF, SSB and police have been instructed to be on alert mode. In view of this secretary Disaster Negi and senior advisor Maj Gen (retd) VK Dutta along with NDMA convened a meeting with districts through video conferencing today.

During meeting Gen Dutta informed to the chamoli DM that tomorrow there is a probability of earthquake having richter scale of 7.3 in chamoli district. In which mass will be affected so you identify the five safe places where people can be kept after rescue. He also exchanged their ideas with the districts  about how to identify the safer place and what are the necessary precautions need to be taken care while finalizing the place.

Negi asked them to activate all the organizations to cope-up with predefined devastation. You do this with better coordination between the departments and by doing this you can reduce your response time. He also asked the incident commander, task force and volunteers and army representatives to be on alert mode to serve your part of work.
