Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has criticized the Congress party, labeling it as anti-women for not fielding any female candidates in the State. Speaking at a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah for the Tehri Lok Sabha seat in Chinyalisaur, Uttarkashi, CM Dhami highlighted the BJP government’s initiatives in Uttarakhand, including providing 30% reservation in government jobs for women and three free gas cylinder refills annually for the underprivileged.
Dhami emphasized the significance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, calling them historic. He urged voters to support BJP candidate Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, asserting that their votes would contribute to re-electing Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Congress leaders were hesitant to contest elections due to public sentiment. He lauded the development strides made by the country under PM Modi’s leadership over the past decade, citing international recognition after the G-20 summit. Dhami underscored that Modi’s schemes are dedicated to uplifting the poor, farmers, women, youth, and employment generation.
Highlighting PM Modi’s commitment to Uttarakhand, Dhami mentioned the approval of projects worth Rs two lakh crores in the state over the last decade.
The CM also listed historic decisions taken under PM Modi’s leadership, such as the abrogation of Article 370, implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and the resolution of the Ram temple issue in Ayodhya. He contrasted this with the Congress manifesto, which he claimed focuses on implementing the Muslim personal law board instead of a Uniform Civil Code.
Discussing achievements of his government, Dhami mentioned the implementation of stringent anti-copying laws, action against those involved in paper leaks, the promulgation of an anti-riot ordinance, and the passing of an anti-conversion bill. He highlighted the 30% reservation for women in government jobs, the expansion of air services, and ongoing road construction projects across all Assembly constituencies in the State.
