Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid foundation stone and dedicated various development projects worth over Rs 85,000 crore from Ahmedabad. The Pश virtually launched the new Vande Bharat train between Lucknow-Dehradun, Jan Aushadhi Kendra at two stations of Uttarakhand (Kashipur, Rishikesh) and ‘One Station One Product Stall’ at various railway stations of Uttarakhand. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami physically participated in the programme held at Railway Station, Dehradun.
In his address CM Dhami congratulated the Prime Minister and thanked Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for gifting the Vande Bharat train between Dehradun and Lucknow. He said that the ‘Vande Bharat’ train is a clear example of the Prime Minister’s Modi ji’s vision of a progressive & self-reliant India. Today, unprecedented work has been done in the field of infrastructure in the country. India’s first indigenously built semi-high-speed train ‘Vande Bharat’ showcases the lofty picture of an emerging India.
CM Dhami said that PM Modi has special affection for Uttarakhand. With the support of the central government, Uttarakhand is moving towards rapid development. A budget of Rs 5,120 crore has been allocated for the expansion of railways in Uttarakhand. Redevelopment of six stations is being done under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The PM Modi is fulfilling every demand of Devbhoomi. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of PM Modi, continuous work is being done on air connectivity, ropeways, roads, rail, transport. The demand for operating flights from Dehradun to Ayodhya, Pantnagar to Varanasi has been fulfilled.
The demand for train operation between Tanakpur & Dehradun has also been fulfilled. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi ji, the dream of reaching the mountain in Uttarakhand is going to come true. As soon as the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail line is built, it will be a matter of pride for every Uttarakhandi to operate the train in the inaccessible mountains.
CM Dhami said that ‘One District Two Product’ based on ‘Vocal for Local’ is being operated by the government in all 13 districts of the state. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, ‘One Station One Product’ is being launched by the Railways today. Through this scheme, livelihood opportunities will be provided to local artisans, potters, weavers and craftsmen and at least four to five people will also get employment opportunities from each shop. Along with this, with the inauguration of ‘Jan Aushadhi Kendra’ at two stations of Devbhoomi, passengers will be able to get medicines at cheaper rates. The central and state governments together are working to bring all the schemes on the ground to connect the last person standing in the mainstream of development.
