Cong wud protest against the expansion of local bodies area

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Pritam Singh has categorically said that their BJP chief minister Trivendra singh rawat has no control over his party leaders and government too. He also lambasted the state government on decisions taken regarding the expansion of limit of urban local bodies and formation of a commission instead of a strong Lokayukta.

Interacting with the media, Singh recalled the fight between supporters of two cabinet ministers which had taken place in Haridwar in the not too distant past. This and other instances of infighting in the BJP make it appear as if the chief minister has no control over his party leaders and members in Uttarakhand. Referring to the recent decision of the state cabinet regarding expansion of the land area under the jurisdiction of urban local bodies in the state, Singh said that this decision was a questionable decision of the state government.

Reiterating the allegations singh said that this decision objective was to facilitate the builders and land mafia at the cost of the Panchayats. Their party would strongly protest against the decision of the state government. Questioning the failure of the state government to put in place a strong Lokayukta, the PCC chief said that setting up a commission against corruption is not an acceptable option to a strong and independent Lokayukta.
