In a bid to review the preparation for the upcoming local bodies Elections 2025, Almora DM Alok Kumar Pandey and SP Devendra Pincha made physical inspection in Ranikhet, Bhikiyasain, Chaukhutia, and Dwarahat on Monday. DM inspection begins at Government College Ranikhet, the designated counting center. He assessed the strong room, counting tables, and other facilities, instructed the Returning Officer for Chilianaula Municipality and Joint Magistrate Rahul Anand to complete the preparations promptly. Emphasizing fairness, the District Magistrate said, “The administration must conduct the elections in a transparent and impartial manner, strictly adhering to the Model Code of Conduct.”
Accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police Harvansh Singh and Tehsildar Hemant Mehra, the District Magistrate underscored the importance of taking strict action against any code violations.
In Bhikiyasain Nagar Panchayat, the District Magistrate reviewed the status of election preparations with Returning Officer Seema Vishwakarma and directed officials to prioritize pending tasks. He also discussed area-specific issues with the Sub-District Magistrate and Block Development Officer, providing necessary instructions.
The review continued in Chaukhutia and Dwarahat Nagar Panchayats, where the District Magistrate met with election officers to ensure comprehensive arrangements. He emphasized facilities for differently-abled voters, including wheelchairs, and instructed that booths be equipped with electricity, water, and sanitation facilities.
Sub-District Magistrates and Returning Officers, including Sunil Kumar Raj and Rinku Bisht, assured the District Magistrate of timely completion of election preparations. The visit concluded with actionable guidelines for smooth and fair elections.
