Governor Baby Rani Maurya extended greetings to the citizens of the State on the 70th Republic Day and wished happiness, progress and prosperity for the State. In her message she said that State of Uttarakhand will be 20 years old by 2020. This is an important milestone. To make this time memorable we have to work with cent percent enthusiasm and energy for the development of the State and Nation.
Appreciating the women of the State Governor said that women of the Uttarakhand influenced her most. They are very hard working and patient. Development policies of the State should be formulated focusing on the women.
State Government is focusing on the industrial development of hilly regions and employment generation. Decision has been taken to develop all the 670 blocks of the State as Growth Centres. Organizing Investor Summit in the State was a major achievement for the industrial development in the State. “I am confident that these efforts will accelerate the establishment of the industries and employment generation in the State”.
Governor said that Uttarakhand has always been centre of attraction for the tourists across the globe. Tourism has been central point of economical development here. Government has given the status of industry to tourism sector. Now, we should develop our tourist spots as par the destinations of international level by providing all the basic facilities. Uttarakhand has got the identity of “Spiritual Eco Zone” as a result of successful organization of International Yoga Day by State Government.
Governor added that Prime Minister’s health scheme Ayushman Yojna has been extended in the Uttarakhand and implemented as Atal Ayushman Yojna. Uttarakhand has become first State of the Nation to provide free health cover to all the families of the State. To achieve the target of doubling the income of farmers by 2022 many initiatives has been taken in the State. I believe that horticulture, floriculture, medicinal plant and aromatic farming may become major source of income of farmers in the State”, Governor added.
Governor said that use of information technology ensures the transparency and speediness in public services. So, policy makers of the country have given the slogan of Digital India. To fulfill the dream of Digital India we have to make a Digital Uttarakhand also. As a major initiative in this regard, first HCI technology State Data Centre of the country has been set up in Dehradun.
Governor said that women and girls have a major contribution in the development of the State. “Importance of daughters is not less than sons in any way. Daughters are setting new milestones in every sector”.
Governor said that women self help groups have done excellent work in many places of the State. “Parsad” made of Kuttu and Chaulai is being made under the Parsad Yojna in Badrinath Dham. Governor requested all the women of the State to be their own “Shakti” and contribute in New India and New Uttarakhand.
Governor said that using modern technology and improving the level of teachers is necessary for the quality education. Original research should be promoted in universities to improve the level of our education. Education should be connected with the cultural and moral values.
