To be more closer to the people of Kumaon especially BJP workers, Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat heard their grievances at the BJP office in Haldwani on Thursday. During the Janta Milan he received 474 petition and most of grievances were addressed on the spot by the CM in three hours.
In his address the CM said that the government organises Janta Milan programmes in the provisional state capital for resolving public grievances. It was felt that the people from distant parts of the state had to spend considerable time and money in reaching this event. In view of this he had organised Janta Milan programme in Haldwani- considered to be gateway to Kumaon. He said that along with facilitating of development, the redressal of public grievances is on top of the government priorities. He said, “We are eager to achieve progress using the experiences of public representatives and the cooperation of the public. Suggestions from all types of people are sought for development. Ministers in charge will also hold Janta Milan programmes for redressal of public grievances at the district level. Additionally, the ministers concerned will also hear and redress public grievances during Tehsil Diwas programmes,” added the chief minister.
In order to evaluate development works at the ground level, the action plan for sending district magistrates and other officials in the rural and urban areas is also to be implemented in the near future. He said that the people can also convey their problems along with their address and phone number through the Samadhan portal to the chief minister.
The widow of martyr Mohan Nath Goswami, Bhawna Goswami was also among those who met the chief minister on the occasion. She requested that the mini-stadium in Bindukhatta should be named after the martyr.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the BJP State president Ajay Bhatt averred that on the request of the party organisation, the chief minister had drafted the programme for himself and his ministerial colleagues following which they will address and resolve the grievances communicated by the public to them.
