New Delhi: Sacked AAP minister Kapil Mishra yesterday fainted at a press conference after charging Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with financial “irregularities”.
Mishra was taken to the RML hospital here from his residence in Civil Lines, where he has been on a hunger strike for the last five days, demanding that the Aam Aadmi Party release details of foreign tours undertaken by five leaders.
The former Water Resources and Tourism Minister in the Kejriwal government, before taking ill, alleged that the party received funds wroth “crores of rupees” from several “shell” companies.
“All this happened with the knowledge of Arvind Kejriwal as these shell companies deposited money in the AAP bank account on the same day and time in January 2014,” Mishra said, brandishing documents. He demanded Kejriwal’s resignation, and immediately after that lost consciousness.
Mishra alleged that AAP’s account had Rs 45 crore in 2013 -2014, its website showed Rs 19 crore and the EC was told only about Rs 9 crore. In 2014-2015, he said AAP had Rs 65 crore in the bank, told the EC about Rs 32 crore and on its web site showed just Rs 27 crore.
“I will go to CBI with the evidence. After all this is investigated, he will go straight to jail,” Mishra said referring to Delhi chief minister Kejriwal.
The suspended AAP member also said 16 shell companies managed by AAP MLA Shiv Charan Goyal made donations to the party. “All donations were made at midnight, January 20, 2014,” Mishra further alleged.
