A 20-year-old BTech student has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Forest Research Institute (FRI) colony.
His parents had gone to the market at the time of the incident. She was first to see her brother hanging. Hearing her cries, the neighbours rushed to the scene. The deceased, Mayank, was son of an FRI scientist and was reportedly unable to cope with the pressure of studies. He was pursuing engineering from a private university.
“The parents took Mayank to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. A suicide note has been recovered from the room in which he has asked his sister to become a doctor and make their parents proud,” said in charge of Cantt police station S S Bisht.
