State may witness another spell of rain and snowfall at higer reaches due to western disturbances in next 48 hours. The Meteorological centre has forecast very light to light rain/snow at isolated places especially in higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh Districts of Uttarakhand. Snowfall is likely to occur at places with height 2500 m and aboveon Saturday and Sunday. The weather is expected to improve on Monday. Dehradun residents relieved as sunshine was reported. However, they experienced cold condition during morning, evening and at night.
The Met official said that fog is likely to occur in some parts of plains during next 24 hours. Minimum temperatures remained normal to appreciably below normal in plains and above normal in hills of Uttarakhand. Lowest minimum temperature 2.0°C was recorded in Pantnagar on Friday. Dry weather was prevailed in Uttarakhand on Friday. The weather forecast for Dehradun on Sunday is partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 22°C and 07°C respectively in Dehradun on Saturday.
Maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 24.2ºC (five degree above the normal) and 5.9ºC (normal) in Dehradun respectively while it was 16.0ºC (three degree above the normal) and 3.8ºC (two degree above the normal) in Mukteshwar and 22.0ºC (two degree above the normal) and 2.0ºC (four degree below the normal) in Pantnagar on Friday. In Tehri district, maximum temperature was reported as 16.2 degree Celsius while minimum was 3.2 degree Celsius on Friday.
