Nine IAS/PCS officers appointed as Observer for SIR in Uttarakhand

Following on the ECI direction, Uttarakhand CEO Dr. BVRC Purushottam has appointed nine IAS/PCS officers as observer to oversee the disposal of claims and objections under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. As per the order issued by the Chief Electoral Officer:

  • Haridwar : Dr. Sandeep Tiwari, Lalit Narayan Mishra, Nand Kumar, and Gopal Ram Binwal
  • Nainital : Sanjay Kumar and Vineet Tomar
  • Udham Singh Nagar : Prakash Chandra Dumka, Jai Kishan, and Divyesh Shashni

These officers will monitor the disposal of claims and objections related to the electoral rolls in the respective assembly constituencies. Their responsibilities include overseeing the distribution and service of notices, conducting hearings, ensuring strict compliance with the rules and procedures prescribed by the Election Commission of India, and maintaining the quality of the disposal process.

They are required to submit reports of their daily inspections to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office twice a week through the concerned Divisional Commissioner, following the revision process and reporting formats specified in Chapter-11 of the Manual on Electoral Rolls, 2023.The nominated officers will remain under the control, supervision, and discipline of the Election Commission until the completion of the stipulated revision period. The order has come into effect immediately.
