A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was held at the Secretariat today, where several important administrative and welfare-related decisions were taken. Following the meeting, Director General of Information  Banshidhar Tiwari briefed the media on the Cabinet’s resolutions.

One of the significant decisions included the creation of a non-cadre post of Deputy Registrar (Audit) in the Cooperative Department. The post, at Level 11 pay scale, has been sanctioned for a period of five years. This move is aimed at strengthening audit mechanisms within the department to enhance financial transparency and cooperative governance.

In a push toward promoting regional art and cultural identity, the Cabinet also approved a proposal to carry out mural artwork on the walls of the ISBT in Badrinath Dham as part of the ongoing Badrinath Master Plan development. The move is expected to enhance the visual aesthetics of the area and provide a spiritual-cultural ambiance for pilgrims and visitors.

In a major boost to animal husbandry and inclusive rural development, the Cabinet approved a scheme under the Animal Husbandry Department, where Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe beneficiaries will receive up to 90% subsidy for animal husbandry-related ventures. Additionally, the Ganga Cow Scheme from the Dairy Development Department has now been merged into this scheme and extended to include general category beneficiaries, broadening its reach.

Another administrative reform includes a decision to reduce the training period for newly appointed Livestock Extension Officers under the Animal Husbandry Department from two years to one year, aimed at quicker deployment and capacity building of staff.

These decisions reflect the government’s focus on administrative efficiency, social equity, and cultural enrichment across the state.
