AI Plane Crash in Ahmedabad, 242 passengers including Gujarat Ex CM Vijay Rupani boarded

An Air India Boeing 737 passenger aircraft en route from Ahmedabad to London crashed shortly after take off on Thursday morning. The crash occurred near Meghani Nagar in Ahmedabad, close to the Civil Hospital and Horse Camp area, triggering panic and chaos in the densely populated neighborhood.

According to initial reports, the aircraft, carrying 242 passengers including crew members, encountered technical trouble moments after lifting off from Ahmedabad Airport. Eyewitnesses reported that the plane’s rear section appeared to collide with an object before spiraling down and erupting into a massive fireball.

Thick plumes of black smoke engulfed the crash site as rescue teams rushed to the scene. Multiple fire engines and emergency response teams are engaged in ongoing relief and rescue operations. Efforts to control the fire are still underway, and several injured passengers have been transported to nearby hospitals in critical condition.

Officials at the State Police Control Room confirmed the crash and advised citizens to stay away from the accident site to allow uninterrupted emergency work. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and aviation authorities are expected to launch a full-scale probe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami have expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured all possible support to the victims and their families. Air India has also issued a statement confirming the crash and said it is cooperating with local authorities for rescue and investigation.

This tragedy marks one of the worst aviation disasters in India in recent years, leaving the nation in mourning and raising urgent questions about flight safety and infrastructure.
