Bhanpura Police Station has registered an FIR against BJP leader Manohar Lal Dhakad after a highly objectionable video featuring him went viral on social media. The case has been filed under sections 296, 285, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The video, which was allegedly shot on a highway, shows Dhakad in a compromising position with a woman inside and outside a vehicle.
Police officials confirmed that they took suo motu cognizance of the viral clip, as it sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about public decency and misuse of public spaces. The video has been described as extremely indecent, to the extent that it cannot be aired or described in public forums due to its explicit nature.
As of now, the identity of the woman seen in the video remains unknown. Authorities are conducting further investigations to identify her and verify if any element of coercion was involved. Meanwhile, forensic experts are analyzing the video to ascertain its authenticity and to determine the exact location and time of the incident.
The incident has put the BJP leader in a tight spot, drawing criticism from various political and social organizations. While there has been no official statement from Dhakad so far, pressure is mounting on the BJP to take disciplinary action against him.
Police sources revealed that Dhakad may be summoned for questioning in the coming days as part of the ongoing investigation. The party has maintained silence on the matter so far, but internal discussions are reportedly underway regarding the leader’s conduct.
