A Man shots his wife and three young children in Sangatheda village of Gangoh, Saharanpur. His three children, Shraddha (8), Devansh (7), and Shivansh (4), died on the spot, while his wife Neha (32) condition is fighting for her life. The accused later called the police and confessed his crime and later police arrest him from spot.
According to police, BJP leader Yogesh Rohila had been experiencing intense mental stress and had been harassing his wife for the past two months. Reports suggest that frequent disputes between the couple were a common occurrence, with Yogesh suspecting Neha’s character. The tension escalated on Sunday when an argument turned fatal. Ignoring his wife’s pleas for mercy, Yogesh shot her in the head and then turned his gun on their children, who had tried to defend their mother.
After the gruesome act, Yogesh locked himself in the room with the bodies. Family members and neighbors heard multiple gunshots but were too afraid to intervene. It was only when Yogesh called the police himself, saying, “I have shot my wife and children. Come quickly, or I will shoot myself too,” that authorities rushed to the scene.
Police officers arrived at the house to find a disturbing scene – Neha and the children lay in pools of blood while Yogesh sat motionless, holding his pistol. Shraddha had already died, while Neha and the two boys were in critical condition. The police arrested him on the spot and confiscated the murder weapon.
Medical teams were immediately called, and the victims were rushed to the hospital. However, Devansh and Shivansh were declared dead on arrival. Neha, still breathing, was referred to a higher medical center, but delays in ambulance service hindered her immediate treatment.
Yogesh had been a prominent figure in the village, running a camp office near his house that resembled those of high-profile politicians. He had a licensed revolver, which he used in the crime, emptying two magazines into his family members.
The horrific incident has left the village in deep shock. Police have assured a thorough investigation into Yogesh’s background and mental health, as well as the circumstances that led to the crime. The tragedy has reignited concerns about domestic violence and gun control, with many calling for stricter firearm regulations to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
