Uttarakhand is experiencing inimical weather conditions, with heavy rainfall and snowfall affecting various districts, especially in the Kumaon region. The Uttarakhand Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert for snowfall and hailstorms in areas above 3,500 meters and heavy rainfall in several parts of the state.

Most areas of Udham Singh Nagar, Pithoragarh, Almora, Nainital, and Champawat are witnessing continuous rainfall. Additionally, places located at altitudes above 2,800 meters are expected to receive snowfall. The harsh weather conditions have disrupted daily life, with cold winds and reduced visibility affecting transportation and outdoor activities.

In Bageshwar district, snowfall has been reported in high-altitude regions, including Khati, Jatoli, Wachham, Dhur, Borbalda, and Pakuatop villages of Pindar Valley in Kapkot. Meanwhile, low-lying areas, including the district headquarters, have been experiencing continuous rainfall since Thursday.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the region, warning of adverse weather conditions. As a precautionary measure, the district administration has ordered the closure of schools from Class 1 to 8 in Bageshwar for Friday.

Despite the current rough weather, forecasters expect conditions to improve across Uttarakhand after March 1. However, authorities have urged residents, especially those in high-altitude areas, to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions against snowfall, heavy rain, and potential landslides.

Residents and travelers are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities.
