The Intelligence Bureau (IB) is currently investigating the activities of two senior IAS officers and a minister in Uttarakhand, with a report expected to determine their fate soon.
The first IAS officer under scrutiny is linked to an establishment on Sahasradhara Road, reportedly frequented by bureaucrats of various ranks. Allegedly, officials are being sent there for shopping, sometimes unwillingly. Sources claim that this officer, known for showing reluctance in approving files even from superiors, is now keen on an upgrade in position, which may depend on the IB’s findings.
The second IAS officer, known for working aggressively without concern for consequences, is being investigated for diverting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds. It is alleged that ₹1 crore was extracted from a major bank for an NGO, only to be redirected elsewhere. His signatures on several important files are also under scrutiny.
Meanwhile, a state minister, who reportedly prioritizes his constituency over his official duties, is also under IB’s radar. Sources suggest that significant evidence against him has either been collected or is in the final stages. The findings of the IB report may lead to major repercussions for all three officials in the near future.
