Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami hands over appointment letters to 394 candidates selected as Village Development Officers (VDOs) across the state. These officers were selected through the Uttarakhand Subordinate Selection Service Commission (UKSSC) under the Rural Development Department at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun on Thursday.
Congratulating the newly appointed village development officers, CM Dhami said that it is expected that all the appointed personnel will make an important contribution in developing the villages by discharging their responsibilities honestly. Whatever responsibility you are getting, start it from the very first day by creating strict discipline for yourself, which will benefit you a lot in your service & life. Referring to the villages, he said that the development of the country depends on the development of villages. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to provide electricity, water, roads, education & health facilities to the villages; but along with this, the huge responsibility of keeping the infrastructure facilities inside these villages strong is on your shoulders.
CM Dhami said that in villages, the process of execution of work related to development is an important link today, hence you have to ensure that the roads inside the villages are good, the drainage system is good & the funds coming from the state government are used in the right place in a transparent manner. He said that you have to work in this direction also to help the people living at the last resort in the villages, so that they get benefits of all the schemes & policies of the state government.
CM Dhami said that PM Modi is continuously striving with dedication to realize the dream of a developed India. It is very important to strengthen the social & economic system of villages for a developed India. He said that “we have adopted the principle of Antyodaya & have paid special attention to the development of villages. Under the leadership of the PM Modi, work has been done to provide food to 80 crore people of India, India’s economy has moved from 11th to 5th position, which will soon come to third position in the coming time. He said that the Prime Minister has special attachment to Uttarakhand. Under his guidance, Uttarakhand has seen unprecedented development in every field.”
CM Dhami said that on one hand roads, education, drinking water, housing & toilets are being constructed rapidly by our government, on the other hand, schemes like ‘Lakhpati Didi’ are being implemented. This way, we are working to make women power self-reliant by forming various self-help groups and we have implemented the scheme of filling 3 free gas cylinders in a year for poor families, which will provide real meaning to the people, especially those living in rural areas. They can be helped and their standard of living can rise. He expressed confidence that our youth will leave no stone unturned in developing the villages with youthful thinking & positive approach.
Rural Development Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the country’s soul resides in villages. He said that you have to discharge your responsibility that is being given to you. He said that today the direction of the youth is changing, they are setting new dimensions in every field. He said that you have to work keeping in mind the basic mantra of the Chief Minister – Simplification, Solution & Disposal and keep in mind that if the village develops, then the state will develop; and if the state develops, then the country will develop. He said that where the youth moves, time moves in that direction.
Secretary Rural Development Radhika Jha also threw light in detail on the working system of the Rural Development Department.
On this occasion Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary Deepak Gairola, Additional Secretary/Commissioner Savin Bansal and related officers and officials were present.
