DAINIK NATION BUREAU : Taking cognizance on the Tamil Nadu Minister Udhaynidhi Stalin’s remarms, BJP has asked the Congress to clear their stand on the Hindu religion. Ironically Stalin had said that Sanatana Dharma is diseases like Dengue and Malaria. This statement sparked row across Southern India. Later Stalin’s statement endorsed by Congress MP Karti Chidambaram. This has fueled demands for the Congress party in Karnataka to clarify their stand on it.
Minister of State for IT and Electronics, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, took to social media to urge the Congress to clarify whether it supports Stalin’s views and if it also intends to pursue a plan to eradicate the Hindu religion. The comments by Udhayanidhi Stalin, a prominent leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, have raised concerns about the alliance known as INDIA, which includes the Congress and DMK.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya strongly criticized Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks and stated, “As disgusting as it is, Udhaynidhi Stalin has presented the true identity of the so-called Inclusive alliance. Eradicating Sanatana Dharma and anything that is native to this land is a long-standing project of this alliance, and it has been stated publicly once again.” Surya emphasized that Sanatana Dharma advocates the well-being of humanity and is an eternal truth that cannot be eradicated.
Surya further asserted that it is time for Indians to stand against any form of the I.N.D.I alliance, which he claimed harbors a deep-seated hatred towards Hinduism and seeks to undermine India’s roots and identity.
Senior BJP leader S Suresh Kumar criticized Stalin’s comments as the “height of ignorance and arrogance.” He pointed out that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s mother had recently visited Guruvayoor to seek blessings from Lord Krishna, highlighting the contrast between the family’s actions and the minister’s remarks.
The Congress and DMK have been political allies for several years and are both part of the INDIA alliance. The Congress even took the lead in organizing the second meeting of the INDIA alliance in Bengaluru in July. With local body and Lok Sabha elections looming in the coming months, it remains to be seen how the Congress will respond in Karnataka to Stalin’s comments, especially in light of the BJP’s provocative stance.
The ongoing drought in Karnataka has already put the ruling party on the defensive, with criticism from the BJP over the release of Cauvery water to the neighboring state. The BJP has accused the Congress of yielding to pressure from its ally on this matter. As tensions rise over the issue of Sanatana Dharma, political dynamics in Karnataka continue to evolve, setting the stage for a challenging period ahead.
