Buyers Sellers Meet to begin by Jan 4

The ongoing handloom expo at Parade Ground here in Dehradun getting a good response as organisers have claimed that goods worth of Rs 2.5 crore have been sold so far. They are expecting three times more than this till it would conclude.

Talking to media persons in Dehradun Industries director Sudhir Chandra Nautiyal expressed hope that in view of the overwhelming public response, they are expecting that the total sale during the expo would cross Rs 6 crore mark. He further informed that one of the key features of the meet would be a ‘Buyers Sellers Meet’ which would be organised from January 4 to 6 during which the specialists representing IKR, Fab India and EPHC would inform artisans of Chamoli, Pithoragargh and Udham Singh Nagar districts about how to model their product and design them to attract customers.

The expo, organised jointly by Uttarakhand Handloom and Handicraft Development Council and Directorate of Industries and Development Commissioner (Handloom), Government of India, would end on January 10, 2019.
