State to have grand martyr memorial soon

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that in the honour of the martyred soldiers, a grand Martyr’s Memorial to be constructed in Dehradun shortly. The state-of-the-art martyr’s memorial will be equipped with all facilities, in which all information about the martyrs will be digitized. The process to find a suitable place for the memorial is on. The people of the country and the world could see how important the young people of the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand have contributed to the country’s service. Chief Minister also felicitated the families of martyrs at a programme “Balidaano Ki Maati Ko Naman” organized by Hindu Jagran Manch at Jogiwala, Dehradun on Sunday.

He said that the memorial will give inspiration to the youth to serve the country and be brave. Chief Minister said that the Center and the State Government gives highest priority to the welfare and facilities of the soldiers. ‘One rank One Pension’ was implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a commission has been made to remove other pension discrepancies in the defence service. Soon, based on the commission’s report, the pension discrepancies will be removed. It has been decided by the Government of Uttarakhand to give employment to dependents of the martyrs of the Military and Para Military Forces, for which the government orders has been issued. All the District Magistrates have also been issued instructions regarding this.

Chief Minister said that the respect of martyrs by society is a respect for the country and its soil. Martyrs are not of any region, caste, religion, but pride of the whole nation and every citizen is proud of them. Chief Minister said that the historic battle of Kargil was fought during the tenure former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The battle of Kargil was fought in adverse circumstances, which will be remembered for the bravery and courage of our soldiers and the strategic and diplomatic skills of Late Atal Ji.

Our soldiers sacrificed their lives in the Kargil war. In a sensitive initiative for military honours, the former Prime Minister Late Atal Ji started the tradition, wherein the government took the responsibility that mortal remains of the martyred soldiers reaches their family with respect and the last rites are performed with state honours and proper rituals. Late Atal Ji ensured that arrangements were made to provide best financial assistance, other facilities and home to the families of martyrs. Chief Minister said that the Uttarakhand government is committed for the welfare and development of its soldiers and their families. Chief Minister said that he express his respect for the martyred soldiers and their families.

A large number of soldier’s families, ex-servicemen were present on this occasion.
