Chief Minister MTrivendra Singh Rawat has said that the Central Government has given in principle approval to link Pirul with MNREGA. It will be available to Uttarakhand as a project. In the state, now Pirul will be helpful in dealing with the unemployment problem and increasing the income resources. From this, 143 types of items can be prepared. Schemes related to it will also be linked with Cooperatives.
While addressing the newly elected President and Vice President of District Cooperative Banks and Bheshaj Sangh at CM residence on Monday late evening, Chief Minister said that Pirul can be the main foundation of our financial strength. In this regard, few days back, he had requested the Union Rural Development Minister to link the Pirul integration work with MNREGA. Now, the Central Government has given its in principle approval. It will also prove to be a game changer for the state to eradicate unemployment and to increase the income.
Chief Minister said that along with bringing change in rural life, cooperative is a major medium for strengthening the rural economy. Efforts should be made to provide maximum amount of funds for various employment programmes for self-employment. With low rates of interest, it can also lead to a change in the society. For this, people associated with cooperatives will have to go to the common man. It has to be connected with it. The information of the schemes will have to be provided to common man.
Chief Minister said that people associated with cooperative should analyse the situation of those people who had taken loans under the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Sahkarita Kisan Kalyan Yojana to ascertain that how much benefit they got. More and more people will be attracted towards it and more and more people will be able to benefit from it. Under this scheme, 3 lakh people have been given loans till date. He said that in the state, clusters of trout fish farming and Angora Wool should be established. It will also strengthen economy. In this way, co-operatives will be able to realise the idea of Sabka saath Sabka Vikas. We have to connect co-operatives with the common man for the betterment of society.
On this occasion, Minister of State for Co-operatives Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that continuous efforts are being made to connect cooperatives with the people. Our efforts are also on in the direction of making cooperation corruption free.
