UK to make single window system more effective

In a bid to promote exports and need for basic infrastructure and efforts of the state government in this direction, Union Commerce Secretary Dr. Anoop Vadhawan chaired a discussion oragnised by Federation of Indian Export Organisation (FIEO) and Industry Directorate, Dehradun on the issue of “ Export policy of Uttarakhand” with exporters, trade organizations and different department in Dehradun.

In the meeting Joint Secretary, Commerce Ministry, Government of India, Secretary Agriculture and Horticulture, Uttarakhand, senior officials of DGFT, President APEDA, Director, Industry, CMD, CONCOR and other were present.

During the discussion, exporters apprised the Commerce Secretary of the difficulties related to export and infrastructure such as multimedia logistic parks, in CFC facilities – testing laboratory connectivity, custom and GST. All the issues were taken by into account the Secretary and he said that all the points relevant for the export should be included in the Export Strategy of the state. By identifying potential sectors for export, appropriate export policy should be framed. Make single window system more efficient for the convenience of exporters. He also informed that in Uttarakhand, there is a 10 per cent, 15 per cent, 40 per cent share in the agriculture, industry and services sectors, so there is tremendous potential for increasing export in these sectors especially in agriculture and MSME industries and for this, the farmers need to be aware of organic production, from which the demands of the Western and European countries has been fulfilled.
